UNIVERSAL POET SUTHANANDA BHARATHIAR ON TAMIL SPIRIT AND ITS UNIVERSALITY
I have seen Dr.Suthananda Bharathiar visiting my father R.Nagarathinam Pillai at our traditional house since 1860-1954 in 2 & 4 Ambalathil aadum Iyer Madam Street spoilt by Tamils by giving an alias as Kosakkadai Street, when I was a student of Kindergarden class in Saint Joseph of Cluny then in Suffrein Street to which I will go in hand pulled rickshaw.
Dr.Suthananda Bharathiar apart from visiting my father would also go to the house of Kameswara Rao of Ashram who lived in the house opposite to present day The Hindu Office. As Aringnar Anna told only at old age I understood that here is a Jasmine of Other Peoples Garden which will smell good. He stood for Tamil Language struggle while others fired shots at studens. His article in the Souvenir of the Statue unveiling ceremony of Student Leader of Annamalai University Rajendran shot dead by Fascist M.Bhakthavatsalam then Cheap Minister of Tamilnadu.
Spiritualists may claim that he is their man, but I consider him a Universal Man upholding the Universal Tamil. The Fire of Tamil , where he speaks of past and present of Tamils is rightfully placed in my blog on Tamils Past and Present.
